The website www.nutritionfacts.org is an excellent resource for topics related to health and nutrition.  Michael Greger MD is founder of the website and is a giant in the field of nutrition and disease. You will find information to be easily accessible and Dr. Greger does an excellent job of presenting the research information using graphs and statistics directly from the original research articles.

The governmental website at www.health.gov provides the 2015-2020 dietary guidelines. This website provides resources for the patients and a tool kit of behavioral strategies for the health professional.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has teamed up with Produce for Better Health Foundation to provide an excellent website promoting the health benefits of eating more fruits and vegetables.

Exercise is Medicine is a website that was started by the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association in 2008. The goal was to promote exercise and encourage health providers to prescribe exercise as one of the interventions for their patients. There are excellent handouts and instructions on safely advising exercise for your patient.

 

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is an excellent resource for healthcare providers. This group puts prevention before pills and promotes addressing chronic diseases through lifestyle changes. There is an excellent resource on health and nutrition on this site with a massive archive of research based articles on nutrition and health related topics.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is an organization that supports www.eatright.org, which is an excellent resource for nutrition, health and behavioral topics related to health such as weight loss.
